Tips for Choosing A Premium Candle.
Scent and aroma shouldn’t be the main factor when come to shopping for candles. There are different types of wax used in candle making and each wax has its own properties that affect the performance. There are soy wax, palm wax, bee wax, paraffin wax, coconut wax, and many more. All our candles are made with soy wax and making them a great choice for those looking for premium candles.

What is Soy Wax
Soy wax was introduced in early 1900s by Michael Richards as an alternative wax because he doesn’t like paraffin’s impact on the health and environment. It is quickly becoming one of the most popular candle waxes on the market today because of it’s sustainable alternative to traditional paraffin wax. Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from soybeans by hydrogenating soybean oil, whereas, paraffin is made from petroleum.
Benefits of Soy Wax
One of our secrets that sets our candles apart from the rest is that we choose soy wax over other types of wax due to its number of advantages over traditional paraffin wax.
- Renewable and Sustainable: Soy wax is made from soybean oil, which is a renewable resource that is widely available around the world while paraffin wax is derived from non-renewable petroleum.
- Biodegradable and Non-Toxic: Soy wax is a natural and biodegradable material, which means that it can be easily broken down by natural processes and doesn’t contribute to pollution. Additionally, soy wax is non-toxic and doesn’t emit harmful chemicals or pollutants, making it a healthier choice for both people and the environment.
- Clean and Long-Lasting Burn: Soy wax burns cleaner and longer than paraffin wax, producing less soot and a longer burn time. This means that candles made with soy wax are better for indoor air quality.
- Holds Fragrance Well: Soy wax has a natural ability to hold fragrance, which means that scented candles made with soy wax have a stronger and longer-lasting scent than those made with other types of wax.
By now you should probably understand why we use soy wax instead of paraffin wax.
Scentsori Soy Wax Candles
At Scentsori, we take pride in the quality of our products. All of our candles are hand-poured in small batches and we use natural soy wax without other additives wax added. Since soy wax is a natural vegetable wax, therefore you may notice there are slight differences between each candle. For one, you may notice the wax melt into a clear and translucent, while other times it may melt into a little cloudy pool of wax. On the other hand, some of the candles have uneven surfaces or frosting on the side of the candle. Many would question whether this imperfection affects the quality of the candle, worry not, it doesn’t affect it at all. In fact, these are normal and expected when choosing soy candles, this imperfection allows candle makers like us to differentiate whether the candles are purely soy wax or has other additive added.
